Union Tandoori Grill at 1599 Union Street, Schenectady, New York.

The owner/chef, who runs the restaurant single-handedly, was incredibly friendly. It was a little on the slow side since he does everything alone, but worth the wait. The food was a slightly different style than most Indian restaurants I've been to, but still good. Great vegetarian options.

My only gripe was that even though he asked what level of spice and I asked for mild, it was almost too spicy to eat. It was definitely medium or hotter. I was sweating! If I had eaten there instead of take out, I probably would have sent it back. But don't get me wrong, it was still delicious and flavorful! The naan was a little on the dried-out side. My guess is that he makes a big batch of it in the morning and serves it throughout the day. Since he runs the place by himself, he can't really make it fresh with each order like a lot of places do. Since it has so few ingredients in it, it doesn't last for too long.
